I am drawn to the simple forms of nature—the leaf that flutters down into my lap, the flower-like dried calyx of a persimmon fruit. My response to these small treasures is gestural and raw. My medium of silver metal is also a pure element of nature—of the earth and having been formed in the stars. I create by shaping and texturing the metal with saw, file, hammer and torch. Each jewelry piece that emerges is distinctive and imperfect.
